Trade show photography and videography in Amsterdam

On-site content direction for brands exhibiting in Amsterdam. One brief, one invoice, images live while the floor is still open.

Sugar Factory · Amsterdam

A trade show is a harder brief than a conference stage. There is no schedule to shoot against, and the moments worth having happen in conversations nobody can plan.

Amsterdam runs on trade shows. Buyers fly in for a two or three day floor, and the brands exhibiting there need content that keeps working long after the stands come down.

That is why the brief matters more here than the camera. What gets covered is decided before the doors open, and I stay on the floor to keep that decision alive as the day moves.

Every venue changes the brief. Lighting, load-in windows and access rules all affect where crew stand and what can realistically be captured.

One brief

I translate your brand objectives into a city-specific shot list and crew guide before anyone picks up a camera.

02

Crew who know brand work

The local photographers and videographers on the job are experienced with brand events and already know what a marketing team will do with the images. The brief covers what is specific to yours, agreed before the day starts.

03

Same-day delivery

Edited photos in the cloud while the event is still live. Your team can start posting before the room clears.

Europe package

Everything the show needs, under one brief

The crew is the easy part. Amsterdam has excellent photographers and videographers, and you could book them yourself. What usually goes wrong is that nobody on site owns whether the output matches the brand, and the images land two weeks after the show when the moment has passed.

Delivery

When you get it

Trade show content has a short shelf life. Most of its value is spent while buyers are still in the building, so the schedule is built around the show rather than around post-production.

Across cities

The same brand, on three continents

The trade platform behind this show runs it in North America, Europe and China. Every stop is covered under one brief, with a local team in each city working to the same shot list and the same delivery standard.

The three cities do not look alike, and they should not. The crowd and the daylight change at every stop. What carries across is the brand. Same framing logic, same colour treatment, and you can see it without being told which shoot came first.

A local team covers its own city well. Holding one brand look across cities is a different job, and it needs one person carrying the brief between them.

Role
On-site content direction

On site

Buyers are mid-conversation and the marketing team needs images they can post while the doors are still open. Shot priorities are agreed before the floor opens, and an editor works from the venue so the gallery fills up through the day.

Result

The gallery was live before the first day closed, so the marketing team posted from the floor instead of waiting on a delivery. The full library came back sorted by day and zone, which meant nobody had to open a thousand files to find the ten they needed.

Someone in the room owns the brief

Local crews in Amsterdam are excellent, and the shooting is rarely the problem. What usually goes missing is a person on site deciding whether what is being captured matches the brand and the plan. That is the job I do.

Una Zhu, Event Content Director

Why direction matters in Amsterdam

Brands exhibiting in Amsterdam are usually showing to buyers from several markets at once. The content has to serve the sales conversation happening on the floor and the campaign that runs afterwards. I build the brief to cover both, so your team is not choosing between them on the day.

The same standard applies whether I am working in Amsterdam or any other city. The location changes. The approach does not.

Pricing

One brief. One invoice.
Everything handled.

Most brands piece together their event content from separate vendors: a photographer here, a videographer there, an editor after the fact. The result is inconsistent footage, missed shots, and a team chasing files instead of publishing. These packages fix that.

If you pieced it together yourself

The hidden cost of hiring separately

When you hire a photographer, a videographer, a content director, and an editor from separate vendors for a 2-day event, the invoices add up fast. And no one is responsible for making it all work together.

Typical a-la-carte cost breakdown

Visual content director(per day)$2,000$3,500
Photographer(per day)$1,500$3,000
Videographer(per day)$2,000$4,000
Live event photo editor(per day)$1,000$1,800

Typical total (1 to 3 day event)$18,000 – $40,000+

The real problem

  • Different vendors, different standards, footage that looks like separate shoots
  • No one briefing the crew on your brand, so they shoot generically
  • Editor working from files they were not present for
  • You manage the logistics while also managing the event

The package below replaces all of this with one brief and one invoice.

FAQ

Common questions about trade shows in Amsterdam

Do you handle trade show video production as well as photography?+
Yes, and both come off one brief. Trade show video here means a daily highlight film delivered the next morning and a recap edit within five business days, shot by the same team working to the same shot list as the stills. Booking the video separately usually means a second crew who were briefed differently, and the two sets never quite belong together.
How do you cover a trade show floor with no running order?+
A conference gives you a schedule to shoot against. A trade show does not. Before the doors open we agree which stands, products and buyer moments matter most, and that list drives where crew stand through the day. I stay on the floor to adjust it as the show moves, so the coverage follows what is actually happening rather than a plan written a week earlier.
Can exhibitors get their own content from the same coverage?+
Yes, and it is worth deciding early. Show organisers and exhibiting brands usually want different things from the same floor. If exhibitor content is part of the deal, that changes the shot list and the delivery structure, so it goes into the brief rather than being sorted out afterwards.
How quickly can we start posting during the show?+
An editor works from the venue or nearby, so the first edited set is in a shared cloud gallery within two hours of doors opening and keeps filling through the day. The full edited library follows at the end of the same day. Your social team can post while buyers are still on the floor rather than waiting for a delivery weeks later.
Do you work with local Amsterdam crews or bring your own?+
Local crews, and I lead them on site. Amsterdam has excellent photographers and videographers, and flying people in adds cost without adding quality. The crew on the job is experienced with brand events, so the brief is about what is specific to your show rather than the basics, and I stay on the floor to keep the coverage matching as the day moves.
Do you handle Amsterdam as part of a broader European tour?+
Yes. Amsterdam is frequently the first or anchor stop of a European run that continues to Paris, Utrecht or Brussels. I build one brief for the full tour and execute it at each stop, so the footage is consistent and your team does not need to manage separate vendors in every city.
